We’re saying “there’s a lot going on."

We’re calling the times “uncertain.”

Attached for your convenience is Nevada’s “roadmap” to recovery, FYI, covering it’s “phase one.”

Predictions about how long it’ll take for us to completely rebound are varied.

But you know better than I, we’ve been here before.

You’ve been here before. You always came back, and you always built something better, crafted something better, lived life itself, better. Whether your job title has something to do with UNLV or CSN, K-12 teaching, casinos, changing towels out in hotel rooms, like those that line Las Vegas Boulevard, or with serving and protecting, or with wiring the future or framing the future or laying the bricks of the future, or with healing, nurturing, you came back, you gave more, and little do you know it, you elevated the world.

The way I see it, it’s been neither a campaign nor a response. It’s far from a suitable foundation for a new movement.

Knowing what you know, you have what it takes to endure tragedy and ill health, disasters natural and manmade. You had the strength. It wasn’t too long ago that you proved it.

The social distancing. The togetherness apart and apartness together. The #Crisis, #Crisis with World Wrestling production music in the background.

All of it. It’s a tag.

A tag, for families and friends, coworkers and neighbors kept apart. A tag, for nights out we never had. A tag, for hour-long lunches at a cafe just down the road, the ones we never had, the ones where your brethren from other offices, other fields, other creeds, would have met and forgotten to talk business, because, after all, sometimes “this is business.”

I know about that one.

What I do— it’s among the greatest privileges. To in a lifetime, bear witness to a million moments that matter most. It’s always been more than my sign in front of a house. It’s always been more than unlocking a door for you. Those doors are eight foot high panels assembled of wood. Repaint it or change it out if you want. Opening those and inviting you in, that image alone, it's far from what makes this a dream job. It’s never been the one, in my mind, that deserves to define real estate sales.

So I’ll see you soon, old friend, at those cafes and in those convention halls and at the office, even if we're just calling the copy machine technician. I’ll see you soon, wherever you're being called to build something.

I’ll see you soon, as the lights come back and where marquees and sights, and Mirage's Volcano, wishes you fortune once more. I’ll see you for date night and in a little chapel and outside a rustic barn, a cathedral, if you will.

I’ll see you for our anniversary, and your birthday, and all that’s to come next.
And I know you’ve been looking. So maybe I’ll get you out there to find that home you’re going to need? As always, my cellphone number is 702-763-4882.

Let’s reconnect.
